Children's Book Series
I'm doing some research on favorite children's book series. I'm building the collection for our families, for friends (blogging friends too!) and our local libraries. I'm focusing on books that promote healthy child development.
This is the collection I've built for grades K-2. Depending on the reading level of the children, the books can be read alone, read together, or read aloud.

A few other favorites for our children have been:
American Girl Books (6 for each doll and my girls have read all of them!)
The Royal Diaries (fiction books based on historical characters, featuring princesses, queens, princes, kings, etc.)
I have to say that I'm not an Amelia Bedelia fan - I think she makes it look like women are stupid! (Jason disagrees, so we do have a few around...)

this is where we get most of our literature unit studies for school
if you go to the site and look under unit studies..you can see the list of books for preschool and older..the books listed under FIAR(which is another literature study resource) are also great..
i would look for books that have great illustrations too, not just content..
also, you might enjoy getting a sonlight homeschool catalog, it is free..and they have excellent books lists..we used their curriculum for one year and it didn't fit our family, but I still get their catalog for book ideas..
