Displaying Kids' Artwork
Our 3 kids come home with a lot of artwork from school and church - not to mention what they create at home! If we displayed all of their work, our home would be wallpapered in artwork. But we do want to display some of their work. It's a way for us to say 'thank you', 'I appreciate your work', and even 'I love you'. So we've dedicated space in two of our living areas to display work - the doors in our kitchen and playroom. I rotate the art out periodically, and I save favorites to display in the future. Our doors currently display snowman and valentine art from 2009-present, and I love it! How do you celebrate your kids art without letting it overwhelm your home?

Had to laugh, because we don't have kids, but the question of how to display our own artwork without clutter comes up frequently. :)
The door panes make perfect frames - that's a brilliant idea! I have one friend who with 3 kids who has 3 "frames" made from washi tape on the side of her fridge. Each kid is assigned their own frame and is in charge of curating the one piece of art they currently want on display. Kind of a fun system.
LOL! I'm with Linda - no kids, but tons of my own art! The funny things is, I have the same exact door as you do - and it's right next to my refrigerator, which has so far been the "chilled gallery space" of the kitchen. Perhaps our gallery space will spread to that glass-paned door!
Clever idea to use the doors.
Over the years the artwork in our house got a tad overwhelming. When it first came in the house it would be happily posted to the fridge, then after a few days it moved to the top of the fridge. If nobody commented on it for a few days I'd go through it again, keep the ones that were truly special (they went into their "special boxes - one for each of them) and "file" (pitch) the others. Worked well - my two love going through their special boxes now that they're big. Some of the stuff they look at and go "Why the heck did you keep this Mom?"
