MommySecrets

Being a mom is the hardest thing I've ever done, but it has brought me so much joy! I want to encourage other moms on their journey, I'll share motherhood tricks, spotlight tips I've learned from friends, and I hope you will share your ideas. I will focus on secrets that help families stay balanced, healthy, frugal, creative, and closely knit. I will also share favorite fiction and nonfiction books that I have enjoyed. Many blessings to you on your mothering journey!

Let it Snow!

It's freezing in Tennessee this week!  If it's going to be a high of 5 degrees, I wish we could at least have snow!  Instead we're out of school with extreme temperatures, and it's too cold for the kids to play.  Oh well, we'll enjoy the snow days anyway!!

Today we spent an hour watching youtube clips from the movie Frozen, and singing the Frozen songs at the top of our lungs.  If you haven't seen the movie, you need to go see it - the story is so creative and the music is beautiful!  We've also been listening to the Disney station on Pandora, and it pulls up several Frozen songs, which encourage the kiddos to dance around the house.  So much Frozen fun!

Hi Ann,

I am visiting from the Inspired Blogging group. Nice to meet you! I started a new job this week and for the first time (probably in history) the school that I was working for had TWO snow days in a row! So I got paid to work my first two days without doing anything! If anyone complains about the cold, I think of that and am grateful! lol… (It was due to extreme cold in MN - on Monday, the governor closed down the schools in the entire state!) STAY WARM!

Oh, I loved snow days as a kid! Mostly I remember them as building snowforts and snowmen and coming in for hot chocolate. TV wasn't much of an option back in those days, not nearly the channels or round the clock kid programming. And video was non-existent. So it was play outside or drive Mom crazy inside. I'm sure we did a lot of that too :-)

Hi! This is such a timely post for me. I am visiting a city that is absolutely freezing, I live in western Canada where the temperature for this time of year hovers at around 45 degrees. I'm now in temps of about 5. Man alive. I feel as if I've been dropped into another world. The clothing here is so different! Can you say parkas? I love the idea of your blog. I've raised two kids and can so relate to everything (except the cold) of this post. Looking forward to reading more.
