Being a mom is the hardest thing I've ever done, but it has brought me so much joy! I want to encourage other moms on their journey, I'll share motherhood tricks, spotlight tips I've learned from friends, and I hope you will share your ideas. I will focus on secrets that help families stay balanced, healthy, frugal, creative, and closely knit. I will also share favorite fiction and nonfiction books that I have enjoyed. Many blessings to you on your mothering journey!
"At the outset of WWI, high-end thief Willa Forsythe is hired to steal a cypher from famous violinist Lukas De Wilde. Given the value of his father’s work as a cryptologist, Lukas fears for his family and doesn’t know who to trust. He likes Willa—and the feeling is mutual—but if Willa doesn’t betray him as ordered, her own family will pay the price." (from the publisher)
I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline, the characters, and the settings. White's writing paints vibrant pictures and stirring emotions. I loved the mystery woven throughout the story and I loved the musical storyline. While there is a little bit of romance, it is clean, with only simple references to one of the characters has a past with a more colorful set of relationships.
This is the second book in a sequence, though the book could probably stand on it's own as well. Reading the second book gave me greater context for understanding the characters and their decisions.
I would recommend this book to readers over age 15, especially readers who enjoy historical fiction.
I received this book as a gift from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
