Historical Mystery from Tracie Peterson

I just read Tracie Peterson's new novel, In Places Hidden. This is the first book in her new series, the Golden Gate Secrets.  It's set in 1905 in San Francisco, where the main character is leading a search for her brother who mysteriously disappeared. All sorts of people come alongside her to search, and to solve the mystery of his disappearance. Along the way, readers learn a lot about the sights, smells, sounds, expectations, and politics of the various communities in this era. Readers see the character's struggles with pain, loss, and hardship, and simultaneously their struggle to find and/or hold onto faith. A little bit of mystery, a little bit of history, a little bit of romance equals a good novel that readers will enjoy. It's a clean read, other than quick references to prostitution and violence. I especially enjoyed the social justice perspectives in the book.

I would recommend this book to ladies age 16+.

I received this book as a gift from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
