Family Tradition - Homemade Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
Making homemade ice cream is quite a tradition in my DH's family. I'm so glad he has carried the tradition into my side of the family too. This is the newest ice cream recipe that we've been experimenting with. I'd love to hear your favorite ice cream recipes!
6 cups
2% milk
6
cups heavy cream3 cups sugar
1.5 teaspoons salt
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
2.5 teaspoons peppermint extract
6-8 drops green food coloring (optional)
6oz miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Put
all ingredients EXCEPT chocolate chips into a large bowl.
Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
Pour
the mixture into an ice cream maker. After
about 10 minutes into the freezing, add the chocolate chips. When the ice cream
maker complete’s its cycle, put the container into the freezer for 2 hours to freeze more solidly.

The Strength in His Pinky
“The foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the
weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.” 1 Corinthians 1:25
God’s great wisdom and strength reside in me as I abide in
Him. My best laid plans pale in comparison to his knowledge and understanding.
When I’m at my weakest, the strength in his pinky finger alone can sustain
me. That’s good, because sometimes I can
be pretty weak. And there are a LOT of
times when I don’t have all the answers.
PRAISE GOD that he fills me up and works through me!

Chosen, Appointed, Delivered, and Filled
Jeremiah 1:5+ “I
chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were
born. I appointed you a prophet to the nations… Do not be afraid of anyone, for
I will be with you to deliver you… I
have filled your mouth with my words.”
What a lovely promise. He chose me. He formed me. He set me
apart. He appointed me. He is with me. He delivers me. He fills me with his
words. And he did all of these things
for you too.
What a great scripture for us to cling to for ourselves and
our children!
